Many are Invited, Few are Chosen, August 15, 2021, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT Today's message centers on the parable of the wedding banquet from Matthew 22 (synopsis): The King’s servants were sent to tell all who were invited to the banquet that all was ready and it was time to come, but they refused to come. Do we participate in the life we are given, or do we sit on the sideline. We are given life. That is the banquet. Squeeze the gifts we've been given. Stop making excuses - Jesus calls us to show up at the banquet. Following God’s call so often has a cost – of no longer fitting in. Realize the possibility, the potential, and show up at the banquet. Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides, joined by Ron Solberg as assistant minister, Micaela Carlton Newton as reader, and Laura Josephs our musician Trinity is an ELCA congregation (more or less traditional, mainline), and a Reconciling in Christ congregation. No matter who you are in your walk of faith, or where you are in that journey, you are invited to the communion table at Trinity Lutheran Church.
